2020: An old man named Manu Randhawa escapes from a hospital in London, UK and encounters Puru Patel, an immigration lawyer. In Laltu, Punjab, Puru puts him in touch with his ex-girlfriend, Hardayal “Hardy” Singh Dhillon. It is gratifying that Hardy has answered his call after 25 years. She cannot get an Indian visa, so she pleads with him to meet her in Dubai (UAE) so that he can take her back to India through the dinky route.
1995: Manu, who lives in Laltu with her friends Buggu and Balli, wishes to move to London to live a better life. Because they are uneducated and poor, they cannot get visas until Hardy, a former military officer, comes to their community. After saving his life in the war, Manu’s brother Mahinder dies in an accident, leaving him and his family in a precarious financial situation. In return for Manu’s brother’s generosity, Hardy promised to assist him in moving to London. After learning that passing the IELTS exam makes it easier to obtain a UK student visa, they enroll in a coaching session conducted by Geetu Gulati, where they meet Sukhi Singh.

- Donkey is one of the best films I have ever seen. It is a masterpiece because it conveys realism while evoking strong emotions. It accurately reflects the real world of how immigrants are treated. I think the acting in it is fantastic and really well done. Another Shahrukh film that makes me laugh and relieves stress. I laughed so much throughout this movie that it’s hard to even calculate how much I enjoyed it. This is a great family film that is humorous and hilarious. It also has poignant scenes that make you cry. Overall, I think it’s fantastic and I will always be a supporter of Rajkumar Hirani’s cinema. Amazingly wonderful and excellent. After watching this movie you will be curious and inspired to know more.
